Walmart Black Friday Ad in 2011

Walmart Black Friday Ad in 2011 : So, you might have your eye on that new LED TV or perhaps a cool new blu-ray player that loads discs lightning fast. We’re just a couple months away from Black Friday. Should you pull the trigger now or summon up some strength and hold out for a little bit longer?

That can be a difficult question to answer especially since football season is just starting, and watching your home team crush the opponent on a Full HD, 1080p 55-inch Samsung LED would be awesome. Nevertheless, here are the reasons to wait:

Electronics will be cheaper. This includes TVs, blu-ray players, cameras, speaker systems etc. The majority of year sales for retailers are done during Black Friday, and prices get more competitive each year.

Products made for Black Friday. If you’re not as concerned with a specific model and a ton of bells and whistles, many manufacturers will create Black Friday specific models, in order to be able to offer them at a low, low price.

Variety. You’ll have a lot of deals to choose from. As Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are competing for the attention of after Thanksgiving shoppers, so are online giants like Amazon.com, Buy.com, NewEgg.com, and 6ave.com. You’ll be sure to get a better deal.

Take home bonuses and free gift cards. Hot items during Black Friday are gaming systems like Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PlayStation 3. If you’ve looked at the prices of these systems, they rarely go on sale. The companies may decide to drop the price from year to year, but the bottom line prices are often established and the price of the system won’t vary from one retailer to the next.

However, during Black Friday many stores offer their own out of pocket discounts for those interested in buying a system. For instance, Target can’t necessarily take 20% off the price of an Xbox 360, but their Black Friday deal will be “Buy an Xbox 360 and Get 1 Free Game and a $50 Target Gift Card.”

Retailers will spend out of pocket money to give away freebies because it gets shoppers in their stores. History has proven that shoppers will leave with more items than what they original came into the store for.

Don’t Fear the Crowds. Don’t let long lines and horror stories scare you. Yes, some people camp out the night before outside Best Buy. They really, really want that $200 laptop. Many of the stores will open at 4 or 5 AM. That is true too. But waiting in the freezing cold and agonizing checkout lines is no longer a requirement for Black Friday. Each year retailers are offering more and more sales online. You can shop from the comfort of your own home.

I would encourage you, if you can, to hold off on that new TV, camera, gaming system, blu-ray player, whatever it is, until Black Friday. And make sure to shop websites like Amazon.com. They usually match the deals that Walmart and Best Buy are having.
